I'm positively pink with envy... ;)

Pr. Weedon,

Mission accomplished, then. ;)

Seriously, what a blessing Heath's mom is. I now have three beautiful chasubles made by her, and two more on the way. They're all high quality, absolutely gorgeous, and made to fit me perfectly. My iphone simply doesn't do justice to the beauty of the rose one pictured. We're thinking about making the liturgical color of the third week of every month rose. What do you think? :)

First, the paraments and chasubles are beautiful! I have never seen rose paraments.

WRT rose on every 3rd of every month, may I suggest a time to experiment is during the Sundays after Trinity? The colors change pretty quickly during the Festival Season, and the third Sunday of the month could be Lent I, Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, etc. Also, Advent III can fall on the second Sunday of December (as this year and last), which would give you back-to-back rose paraments.

I was just kidding about changing the liturgical color of the third week of every month to rose, but good ideas anyway. :)

AHA! The smiley face must have disappeared the first time I read this, and then reappeared just now! (I hear facebook is behind this hehe...)

I've been taking things a bit too literally lately, in case you couldn't tell.

O Sapientia...Veni, ad docendum mihi viam prudentiae.

(guessing on the latin pronoun, here, had to go from "us" to "me")

I have to say, this kind of logic is not out-of-character for my parish!

If we did get new rose paraments, someone on altar guild would REALLY like them, I mean REALLY, REALLY like them, and wonder why we couldn't use them every third Sunday. After all, why only use them once a year?

Actually, rose is an option for Laetare Sunday in Lent as well, so twice a year. And, of course, you can double that as well by holding midweek Divine Service during those weeks - or, you could put it to use even more by having Daily Mass during Advent and Lent. :)
