Congrats, President Rast!

In case you haven't heard by now, Dr. Lawrence Rast, one of my favorite seminary profs, was elected to serve as President of Concordia Theological Seminary this past Saturday.  So excited for him.  I know that CTS will be blessed with him at the helm.  Here is a video of the announcement:

Pr. Messer,

If you want to make a road trip down to Marion, Ohio on June 24-25, Dr. Rast is the keynote speaker at our Conference on the Augsburg Confession.

Hello Pastor,

Have really enjoyed your blog. My wife and I just join the LCMS (taking classes). What lead us to the LCMS was that it is a biblical (sola scriptura) , conservative church, but does not crossover the line into legalism. Also I never liked the casual attitude the other Protestant churches had towards the Lord's Supper. Serving Welch's grape juice did not help either. My two sons age 6 & 13 will be baptised in two weeks. My son will be going to confirmation starting the next school year. We really feel we found the right church and have peace because of it.

Joe,

Thanks for the info. Don't know if I'll be able to make it this year, but we'll see. Would love to come down not only to listen to Dr. Rast, but also to see my buddy, Pr. Cornelius, and many others.

Jason,

Thanks for the kind words regarding my blog, which has been a little on the inactive side of late.

So glad you found a solid LCMS congregation to call home. I pray the Lord's richest blessings upon you and your family as you make this transition. I am confident that you will be well fed by our Lord via His Holy Word and Sacraments in your new home.

Blessings,
Pr. Messer
