I'm thinking about . . .

starting a "Send Pastor Messer to St. Louis" fundraiser, so that I can attend this sure-to-be glorious Service.  Anyone interested in helping me to get that going should contact me immediately! :)

Seriously, I'd love to be there and to join in the procession.  Maybe, just maybe, I can figure out a way.

The senior pastor and I are hoping to go into STL for this. I'm trying to convince another classmate of mine to head in as well. I consider Harrison's election to be one really nice ordination present.

Pastor Messer,

You'd always be welcome at Chez Weedon, conveniently located some 40 minutes from Concordia Seminary, and stocked with fine boxed wine...

sam,

A really nice ordination present, indeed!

Pr. Weedon,

Thanks for the offer. I'd love nothing more than to visit Chez Weedon and share some fine boxed wine with ya . . . maybe even enjoy a little pinochle, too. :)

It could be arranged. Do you hold or do you pass. The answer to that question determines whether you will be in Cindi's favor or mine... Would your wife be joining in the festivities?

Rev. Thomas C. Messer, SSP said...

I prefer to hold (what can I say, I'm a "purist"), but passing can be fun, too (just makes it a much different game). I'm not sure if Lisa would be able to join me or not, but I'd love it if she could. We'll see . . .

Oh, I forgot to ask: In whose favor am I? :)

William Weedon said...

The pattern holds. We have found that MOSTLY those who prefer passing are from the Western side of the Mississippi. I hope that Lisa would be able to join you! We'd love to host you both.

Oh, and you are in the favor of the woman of the house. You wretch!

No offense, but I'm much happier being in Cindi's favor than yours, my friend . . . my momma didn't raise no fool! :)

Yup, at least you'll EAT well!

So long as we keep YOU away from the grill . . . :)

But my new apron has made me a new man at the grill... I still need to post pics of that!

So glad to hear that . . . maybe you'll get your "man card" back, after all! :)

Nah...I'm still happy to leave the grill in the capable hands of the real cook. I just wear my apron to set the table, you know... ;)

I think I could help the "send Pastor Messer to St Louis" fund especially since I know he'll have a safe place to stay. I think he'd camped on a street corner just to be there! Thanks, Pastor Weedon. Just make sure I have a functioning kitchen before you go or the deal's off.

Thanks, Trixie! We'll have your kitchen done in plenty of time - I hope . . . :)

You should definitely go! Of course, you run the risk of missing the OTHER most important event of the year... :)

Meggers,

I know! I'm very nervous about missing that MOST IMPORTANT event. But, I'm pretty sure that you will deliver that little bundle of joy before I leave. I'm thinking September 7 will be the day. Yeah, that sounds good. Let's just go ahead and pencil that in, okay? :)

meggers said...

Ummm... Sure. Although, I've heard that you are planning for Sept. 5 as well. Which is it?! I need to know these things!

Rev. Thomas C. Messer, SSP said...

Hoping for September 5, planning for September 7. There is a difference, you know! :) Either date will do, though, so pick whichever one you like and we'll go with that. :)
